A vintage ramie guest towel with nostalgic appliqué and embroidered hollyhocks at either end, a lovely rustic & durable textile and useful addition to a linen cupboard. Measuring 89cm x 38cm it is in excellent condition with no marks or fabric damage, laundered ready to use, the blue end borders have some even fading. Ramie is a flowering plant in the nettle family cultivated for thousands of years for its strong fibres, which are valued for their durability, anti-bacterial properties, resistance to mildew, and ability to hold shape, it also dries quickly and remains strong when wet - a perfect fabric for hand towels.
