1940s Greydawn Dinner Plates

China & Glass

A set of utility china 10" dinner plates made in the 1940s by Johnson Bros in their 'Greydawn' pastel blue with scalloped edges and a lovely shiny glaze. 5 plates (set of 4 & a spare) in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or crazing, just some surface wear to the glaze (1 has 2 tiny original glaze spots, another has 1tiny spot). 'Utility' china is good quality table ware produced in the post war years when household items had to be durable & functional and is now much sought after - lovely to mix & match. These plates sell for in excess of £10 each on china matching sites - so a bargain too😉
