General Information

Placing an Order

If you wish to purchase an item our site is very simple to use. Just add your item(s) to the basket and follow the on-screen check-out instructions if paying by Paypal, or email us for payment details if paying by cheque/postal order.

Payment

Payment may be made instantly and securely via Paypal, and we are also happy to accept personal cheques or postal orders if you prefer. If you make payment via Paypal we will not have access to any of your financial information, it is a very secure service. For more information on Paypal or to sign up please visit their site at http://www.paypal.co.uk.

If you prefer to pay by cheque or postal order please email us from the "Contact Us" link stating which item(s) you wish to purchase, and we will send payment details, where to send payment etc by return of email. Please allow a few hours for us to reply, we will reply as soon as possible and all messages are checked daily. We will reserve items for customers for 7 days after request to purchase. We will let you know once your cheque/postal order has been received, notify you when your cheque has cleared and when your item(s) will be despatched.

We would ask that all payments from outside the UK be made by Paypal as we are unable to accept International Money Orders/transfers.

Postage

All postage prices quoted are for postage within the UK. If purchasing from outside the UK please email us for an overseas postage quote. Items will be despatched within the UK by Royal Mail second class signed for service which will require a signature on delivery (we will email you with a Royal Mail tracking number). For heavier items we will use Parcelforce or other courier express service ~ all our items are sent with a trackable delivery service.

Where items have been paid for by Paypal or postal order purchases will be despatched as soon as possible thereafter - normally within two or three days. Items that are paid for by cheque will normally be despatched after the cheque has cleared.

When posting delicate items such as china and glass we guarantee to package these safely to avoid damage in transit. All packaging charges are included in the cost of postage. In the event of damage to an item in transit we would request you to attach a photo to your email when informing us so that we may make the relevant claim with the carrier.

Returns and queries

We trust you will be completely satisfied with your purchase. Most of our items are genuine vintage items and as such are not new, unless stated (however most of our handcrafted items are made with brand new or unused vintage fabrics) We describe our items as accurately as possible and would ask our customers to be realistic about the concept of vintage. In relation to vintage china, we do test all our china to ensure it is fit for its purpose (especially in the case of teapots) at the time of sale.

Returns will not be accepted. We would ask customers to ensure they are committed to their purchase before payment. Refunds will not be issued were a customer to change their minds regarding their purchase.

Item(s) returned unsolicited will be refused

In exceptional circumstances we may agree to the return of an item but this is expressly at our discretion and only following our written agreement of the same.
